Retaking Maths GCSE
There is nothing as disappointing as failing an exam, right? Especially, if it is a maths exam. But, making a grade less than what you were expecting for your GCSE maths is no reason to beat yourself up.

Why you should resit Maths GCSE
The government in 2016, required that all students who did not achieve a Grade 4 in either maths or English will have to resit.
Asides from this, GCSE maths is an essential qualification for you. If you intend to further your education, skilled employment, or training, then you have to score between a GCSE grade 9 – 4, that is A*- C.
As a result, if your score is a Grade 1, 2, or 3, you will have to consider the option of resitting.

Options available for you

1. Resitting in a school or college
You can explore the option of taking the exam in a school or college. All you need do is enrol and work with the school’s timetable prepared for all GCSE students like you.
Again, many schools and colleges provide night classes for students with a less flexible itinerary. So, if your schedule is not flexible enough to accommodate the time allotted for these classes, you could enrol for the evening classes.
2. Resitting on online
Not looking forward to going back to school to resit your exam? Or are you busy with work and family, that sitting down at regulated hours, sounds like a hassle? No worries. Taking the GSCE exams online is now an available option so long as you are up to 18 or already have a pass.
The benefits of using the online option include the possibility of working your study time around your schedule. But, you must be up to 18 years old or have already received a pass to use this option.
Cost of resitting
To resist your GCSE maths, there are two different fees you must make. The first is your course fee and the second is your exam fee. There is also the possible fee of using an online maths tutor which will help consolidate any gaps in knowledge.
Your course fee covers the cost of your tutorials and course materials. It changes, subject to where you are studying and how you chose to study. The course fee for students studying with schools or colleges is known to be costlier than that of its online counterpart.
The exam fees are paid to the exam centres when you come for the exams. Each exam centre is responsible for fixing their rates and so the exam fees may differ with exam centres.
