    Our A Level Maths February Half Term Revision Course gives Year 13 students the opportunity to act on mock exam feedback at a crucial stage of the year. This intensive three-day course covers pure maths, mechanics and statistics, helping students address gaps in understanding with targeted guidance and structured exam practice. With final exams only four months away, February half term is the ideal time to consolidate knowledge and strengthen exam technique.

    This course follows the structure of our A Level Maths Revision Course, covering pure maths, mechanics and statistics with focused exam preparation.

    What Is Covered in the February Half Term Course?

    Taking part in A Level Maths February Revision, students recap topics covered in year 12. They will also cover year 13 topics. Much of the year 13 content ought to have been covered in school or college. This allows every student to take part. Reinforcing key areas and preparing for mocks and final exams. 

    Here are a few topics that could be studied.

    Calculus Unpacked

    Calculus is the heart of A-Level maths. It consists of differentiation and integration. Through the process of differentiation students learn how quantities change instantaneously and integration is differentiation in reverse. As well as the general integration techniques, which include substitution, integration by parts and others. 

    Many pupils find it challenging to combine multiple rules for differentiation, for instance knowing when to apply the chain or product rule correctly. In integration, pupils can find it challenging to decide which method would fit a problem, especially when setting the limits and dealing with physical contexts (e.g. using velocity graphs to find displacement).

    With regular and systematic practice, particularly using clear step by step working, learners will develop the assurance needed to solve differentiation and integration confidently with precision.

    Learning Numerical Methods

    Numerical methods allow students to find an approximate solution to equations or integrals they cannot algebraically solve. For example, root finding algorithms (e.g. Newton-Raphson and bisection) and integral algorithms (e.g., trapezium rule). 

    For students, a major challenge of using numerical methods is deciding how to establish the correct starting values, how to know when to stop iterating, and how to express or establish their error boundaries. 

    Students can make incorrect choices by choosing step sizes that are too large or too small, or by choosing an iteration which is not converging, at all.

    Students need to practise error analysis so they learn how, and perhaps more importantly, when to use numerical methods so they can use them with confidence in examinations.

    Basics of Vectors

    Vectors provide a versatile method for representing quantities that have both magnitude and direction. They are used in a variety of applications including mechanics, geometry and physics. In A-Level maths, learners deal with vector algebra (addition, subtraction and scalar multiplication) and calculating dot products to find angles (further maths only).

    Finding the resultant for many vectors can be confusing when there is no obvious way to get help, and doing that geometrically can sometimes cause issues as well.

    Sketching regularly, using a consistent notation and clearly stating the breakdown of each step can help to support understanding and confidence.

    Daily Format & Schedule

    Our A-Level February Maths revision runs online from 9:30 am to 5 pm each day. Each day provides focused teaching. There are opportunities for students to practice exam questions. Students have a one-hour lunch period and two 15-minute breaks, morning and afternoon. This structure helps students stay engaged and focused whilst developing key exam concepts. 

    How much does the A Level Maths Revision Course cost?

    The course cost is £210 a day, with the total cost of the three-day course being £630.

    The course is very much an investment in your son or daughter. Students will receive 18 hours of focused learning with expert tutors for £35 an hour!

    Students will develop core skills and examination techniques. They will develop the skills needed to answer questions. No guesswork, but a clear plan for success. 

    Revision courses are available in the half-term holidays. This includes the half-term of October, Christmas, February, Easter, and May.

    Normal school or college days involve commuting. There is also the need to wait for lessons to start. Our courses allow for no disruption. These are the best moments to focus on revision.

    Our clear structure will allow students to understand A Level Maths well. 

    All revision courses are online through our bespoke learning environment. You do not need to travel. Students join the course from the comfort and safety of their home.

    What is the daily schedule?

    The course is planned with a simple goal. To maximise learning.

    There are four lessons each day. Each lesson is for 90 minutes. This gives time to discuss topics in enough detail. There is a 15-minute break in the morning and also in the afternoon. A one-hour lunch break is also provided to help students recharge.

    This structure allows students to absorb, reflect, and inquire about any topics.
